Do you have an interest in sustainable development, social entrepreneurship, responsible management, sustainable finance, pluralist economics, or leadership development? Would you like to engage in a sustainable career, learn how to create systemic change from within, connect to relevant people or organisations within the fields while deepening your understanding of sustainability?

At oikos we strive to provide the best opportunities for our members to pursue meaningful impact for sustainability. As oikee, you will get to work with dedicated people on projects that have a positive impact, while expanding your professional and personal network. We will provide you with the technical and theoretical tools to facilitate your team’s aspirations for your project.

As oikee, you will be part of our sociable, supportive and committed organisational culture. oikos Copenhagen has a function dedicated to the personal growth of our members and it is the board’s responsibility to facilitate synergies across the organisation. You will also get the chance to get together with your fellow oikees to participate in social events, such as julefroikost (Christmas dinner), social dinners, Thursday bars and random coffees. We work hard and we play hard and we are looking for new members to join us on our journey.

Responsibilities and activities of oikees

oikees are drivers of their projects. Responsibilities are largely dependent on the projects’ need and will change with your ambitions, but oikees can generally expect the following activities:

  • Brainstorming and conceptualising the scope of their project for the upcoming year.

  • Decide on activities to engage in for the upcoming year, e.g. decide on workshop formats, guest speakers, initiatives, etc.

  • Management of stakeholder relations with our current and future network.

  • Content creation and preparing promotional material, e.g. social media posts, blog posts, videos.

  • Proactive contribution to their project and following up on tasks.

  • Participating in weekly meetings with their project team.

Qualities

  • You are enthusiastic about sustainability and eager to engage more in the topic.

  • You are curious and willing to learn new skills to help your project.

  • You want to take on responsibility and engage proactively in your project.

  • You have a positive and optimistic hands-on mentality.

  • You are a supportive team player.

  • You have a global outlook and are comfortable with using English as the organisational language.

COMMITMENT

You are our impact! To achieve our mission, we relly on volunteers who are able to commit time to our organisations and our fellow members. Therefore, we are looking for sociable and driven students who are able to put in 3-5 hours per week into oikos (more or less depending on activties). The organisation is committed towards our oikees and we do our best to bring you the most value in terms of social offerings and practical gains. We are looking for new members who are excited about this aspect of our organisational culture and are eager to contribute to it.

Please write us your motivation for joining oikos Copenhagen and why you would be a good fit for our organisations. The application deadline is September 25th, 2021. We will be conducting interviews after reviewing the applications.
