*Mosa Meat x Ernst van den Ende: How to Feed the World?*
Join Green Week for a discussion about improving food security and nutrition for the growing world population.
about the event
Food production is essential for our survival. However, our food supply chain jeopardizes our future: it is connected to major greenhouse gas emissions, unsustainable water extraction, deforestation and a loss of biodiversity.
In a country famous for its meat production, we want to discuss how researchers are working on innovations to improve food production efficiency and develop sustainable food systems.
The panel will discuss how we can produce meat without feeding and slaughtering animals and how we can intensify agriculture through horticulture.
about the speakers
Mark Post presented the world's first hamburger from cultured beef in 2013 and has received the World Technology Award from AAAS/Times/Forbes, acknowledging the potential for his innovation's environmental impact.
Ernst van den Ende is Managing Director of the Plant Sciences Group (PSG) of Wageningen University & Research, focusing on fruit cultivation and horticulture.
